Why is healthcare an atrocity in America?

All industrialized western nations in the world cover all their people on healthcare plans except the USA. The average cost of healthcare in other nations is 7% of GDP. The last two decades have seen the US become more powerful and less secure. Time has also permitted America to get richer but for the wealth to concentrate in fewer and fewer hands. We may be at the peak of our super-power status but it could be all downhill from here.
