There is a joke that George W. Bush was fortunate enough to be born on third base and thought he had hit a triple. It's been like that all his life. He assumed the presidency under a cloud of doubt and as time goes by, it appears that the doubts about his "selection" are as valid as the doubts about his ability to do the job.
