It takes a long time in California to get anywhere...on so many levels. Kansas was so very flat, so straightforward. Except for the wind. The wind in Kansas carries whispers, and breathes silent screams. I used to be afraid of the wind there. I'm glad that we made peace before I left. And I hope...that someone else hears what I did.
