Just Who The Hell Is Bush Speaking To?

This past week, Bush said the American people had voted for a change in the war in Iraq. That's why he instituted the "surge" of troops. What? Two-thirds of the American public want our troops "out" of Iraq, not going in. Bush's spin is out of control. And as if to put the lie to all the calming... Sign in to see full entry.

War 'Czar' Or Just Another Scapegoat?

The White House announced today that it was looking for a War 'Czar', someone to oversee the war effort in both Iraq and Afghanistan (I thought that was Admiral Fallon's job). Three retired generals claim they've already turned the job down, although the White House is denying they've offered anyone... Sign in to see full entry.

Thousands Mark The Fourth Anniversary Of Fall Of Baghdad

Tens of thousands marched today in Iraq, mostly Shiite, most in Najaf, where Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr demanded that they go and demonstrate. With Iraq flags flying and feet stomping and treading on American flags (if they weren't shredding or burning them), Iraqis protested the occupation... Sign in to see full entry.

And So It All Begins To Unravel

The Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr issued a statement today for Iraqis to ban together to get rid of the invaders: "God has ordered you to be patient in front of your enemy, and unify your efforts against them -- not against the sons of Iraq." The statement went on to urge his followers and all... Sign in to see full entry.

Not A Civil War; "Pure Evil" Instead

Our president is again showing his true colors, throwing out inane comments that mean nothing, hoping to cause a kneejerk reaction from his core constituents and some fence-riders on the issue of Iraq. In a press conference yesterday, he said that what was going on in Iraq wasn't a civil war, it was... Sign in to see full entry.

Hey, Dubya, Here's A Number For Your Nonexistent Bottom Line: 3258

Bush fired off heated remarks at Democrats today, saying that the "bottom line" was that they were playing politics and were keeping money from the troops. He said the time was over for playing. He would veto the bill, then Congress can send him the money to get on with the war. How many more times... Sign in to see full entry.

Disturbing News

In March, 81 Americans lost their lives. At the same time, 44 Iraqi soldiers lost thier lives. This at a time when the Pentagon and the generals in Iraq are telling us that the clean-up operations are being led by Iraqi forces. What? And our forces are having twice as many men killed as the Iraqis?... Sign in to see full entry.

Sabre Rattling In The Persian Gulf

The United States conducted naval exercises today in the Persian Gulf. The Pentagon says the maneuvers were routine. Yet, the orders for these exercises were issued just two days ago, right after members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and six Iranian vessels captured fifteen British seamen. Some... "...there are still political... morons who beleive...this war is winnable"

Yesterday, I posted some thoughts on this terrible and worsening war. And today, Dubya proved my point. He told a host of reporters today that the American people needed to be more patient, that the operations being conducted now in Iraq needed more time, that with enough time, patience, and money,... Protests And Transition

Protesters came out in the thousands in D.C., San Francisco, and other cities across the country to march against the war in Iraq, slated to go into its fifth year of stagnant, ill-advised, and counter-productive violence on Monday. Unofficial estimates put the largest crowd (in Washington) at... Sign in to see full entry.
