A Seed Saving Day

I spent a goodly portion of my afternoon saving seeds from my garden. I put them in envelopes and mark them for next year. It is something I enjoy doing immensely. Potatoes in the compost. well...leaf mold

I had a compost pile started with mostly leaves in it. I had not thrown much else of anything in there with the exception of a few grass clippings. It’s March 1st in Texas; get in gear for my garden

Today is March 1st. Here in Texas it’s time to get in gear for the coming garden year. Actually, I have some seeds coming up already. I planted some radishes, lettuce, and snow peas. The cold got almost all the plants

In the aftermath of the cold spell we had this past week, all the tender plants are gone now. My favorite, the basils’, had succumbed to the cold before this on. A great day in my garden!

Yesterday was a wonderful day in the garden for me. I got out early and worked to turn over my soil and begin the process of planting all sorts of plants. A wonderful sit in one of my garden areas

Last night, right before I went to bed and after finishing off my day I took my two labs and sat by one of my small garden areas. It helped me heal some yesterday!

I think of my garden as a healing garden. I use the herbs and vegetables in my meals so I eat better. I use the flowers to lift my spirits and show me the beauty our planet has to give. A couple more weeks and I will be ready!

About this Blog

After a few medical problems earlier this year I began to look at my garden in a different way. It became more than a place to grow plants. It became a healing mechanism.
