Competition Comes From the Illusion That We Are All Separate

Driving in to work today, I fell into an old habit that I had hoped I had overcome. I got into a competition with other drivers on the road about getting somewhere first. Actually, it was several little competitions. First, I wanted to be first off the line at a particular stop light. Then I wanted to be first to merge onto the freeway. Then I wanted to be first through the tunnel. Then I wanted to be first on my exit to reach the stop light. Then I wanted to be the first through the gate at my... Sign in to see full entry.

Can We Choose How We Die?

I've written before about Deathclock.com. It says I'm to die at the age of 74. According to some religious beliefs, I chose how I was going to die before I was born. So if Deathclock.com is right, then on January 20th of 2032 I will die. I've been thinking about it, and I would hope that the mode of death that I have chosen would be rather uneventful. I've grown tremendously from a spiritual perspective over the years and though I have a long way to go, I can't see how a wild, violent kind of... Sign in to see full entry.

Be Pure, Compassionate and Gentle; Be Moderate in All Things

I came across this code on a website that I have been reading (www.plotinus.com) and wanted to share it. It's the Moral Code for the Perfect Model. The Perfect Model is the Divine Self in each of us, according to this website, and this code is for those who have reached that level of perfection. I think it's good for each of us, regardless of where we are on our journey. The Perfect Model Moral Code Love that which is good Ignore that which is evil Be goodness, justice and compassion Never... Sign in to see full entry.

Becoming Attuned to Alternate Realities Allows for Expanded Learning

The next installment of Thursdays With Death Chance had continued his vomiting and barking at nothing for two more days. It didn't seem to happen at any particular time, though they both happened together. He was eating, but vomiting as well. I had decided that I was going to take him to the vet the next day, if the vomiting continued. That night when we went to bed, Chance seemed just fine. At about 2:00 am, I was awakened by Chance's whining. He had jumped off the bed and was laying on his... Sign in to see full entry.

The Archetypal Symbol of Thread - The Connection of All Beings

Another installment of Thursdays With Death. I blinked a few times and squeezed my eyes shut and then reopened them, trying to make sure I was awake this time. I stretched a bit, swung my legs off the bed to get up, and heard a “SPLAT” as my feet hit the floor. “Splat” is not a noise one would expect to hear upon placing one’s feet on a hardwood floor. “Thud” is more appropriate (and is actually preferred by three out of four people who have hardwood floors) but this was a “splat”. It was not... Sign in to see full entry.

Release the Illusion of You So The Real You Can Commune With Truth

Those who walk the path are aware of the need to release attachments. The stronger the bonds to worldly attachments, the harder it is for one to touch the Divine. But of all the worldly attachments one may collect over the years, there is one that is by far the most difficult to release: the attachment to “You”. The “you” that you see every day is a creation of your thought processes. These thoughts are the result of your feelings about yourself as well as of how others perceive the person known... Dreams: They Deliver Universal Messages About Reality

Dreams. I’ve written about some of the dreams I’ve been having in previous posts. My Blogit friend Ariala pointed out that she and I have different views on dreams. That made me think that I’ve never really posted on those views. So here they are, briefly. Everyone dreams. Not everyone remembers them, but everyone dreams. Most times one’s dream is just that – a dream. But there are times, mainly when they seem extraordinarily real, that a dream is more than just a dream. These dreams are a form... In Our Highest State of Spiritual Evolution, Do Our Bodies Become Light?

I’ve posted before about “God” being light ( http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/sannhetseeker/253165 ). Many mystics and saints believe that “God” is light. The process of reaching union with “God” is called en”light”enment. John White, a researcher and author of many books and articles on the evolutionary shift in consciousness and spiritual maturation, writes in an article in What Is Enlightenment magazine that enlightenment is the ultimate event in spiritual evolution, when the body...
