The Jesus Prayer
"Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner." This is the Jesus Prayer. If you are not familiar with it, read The Way of a Pilgrim, an anonymous narration of a Russian peasant's experience in praying unceasingly, as St. Paul asks us to do in 1 Thessolonians. His spiritual transformation and how it affects those around him (to quote St. Seraphim of Sarov - "Aquire the spirit of peace and a thousand souls around you will be saved") is an amazing story.
