Goodbye All
It's been wonderful. I'll still write, but for free. I'll miss reading, but time doesn't permit me to do as much online reading anymore and I don't want it to become perfunctory. I look forward to meeting your words again, perhaps in a magazine or bookstore. Have a wonderful August!!!!

It Takes a Village
witnessed Saturday in the park My son was learning to ride a two-wheeler. When he'd leave me, he'd go hundreds of feet before stopping. Invariably, someone would help him up, help him take off, even walk his bike back toward me if he seemed hurt. I'd run as fast as I could to get to the good...

Grateful Grad
witnessed 11:45 Mom and son on way to elementary school graduation Mom parks and feeds meter Man calls to her from van at light "Hey, that's a street cleaning zone after 11:30." She complains about the quarter, but is grateful as a ticket giver comes just as she's getting back in the car.

Children from elementary schools are writing letters to ask our lawmen for dollars to build a temporary ice rink so that children have something to do in the winter in our abandoned double olympic-sized pool.

went to buy smokes guy who I only buy smokes from says I should quit obviously, that'll be no more business from me but he'd rather I quit He asks if I didn't quit before...why did I start up again? Great to get encouragement from someone who has everything to lose by my quitting.
