Fetishes: good, bad, and ugly

Okay, I know this may be a subject that's not all to popular with the "normal" online socialists. But I think it has its rightful place in life, and as a topic. Now, Miriam-webster says: Definition of FETISH 1 a: an object (as a small stone carving of an animal) believed to have magical power to protect or aid its owner; broadly: a material object regarded with superstitious or extravagant trust or reverence b: an object of irrational reverence or obsessive devotion: prepossession c: an object... Go into the light? Maybe not

As light and darkness are often confused So is the mind and soul of the fool: Running towards the lights of rock stars Believing in man’s medals and rewards When real stars rest in the depths of space: The dark abyss is where the wise race And words of flesh-lust, as black roses Unlikely found on tongues of the chosen A thought on how many are bedazzled by glitter, and glitz...when often reality lies within the dark--not truely outer space, but that which we do not take time to glance at or give... Thoughts on Gods, spirituality, and Psychology of worship

Her radiance speaks from dusk til the dawn she peaks sleeping desires wake the wolf and the owl delight lovers lust in sacrifice As a child, my family frequented church on Sundays, and my grandmother would have weekday bible studies, on random nights. Many of you may know from former posts that I was shuffled around from one family member to another--as my family suffered poverty and my mother wasn't around so much. So, when I speak on the present topic I mean the times I was with my... Sign in to see full entry.

Am I my Brother's Keeper

Another year is coming to a close, around the world, and it seems that we're back where we started. Every year seems to come in with past troubles amidst: starving children in China, Russia, and South America, Africa, and even the U.S.; mercenary killings and human trafficking on the rise; and lastly, but not least, wars in the Middle East. As an ally to Israel and 'self-proclaimed' keeper of the peace, I know the U.S. means well when our Cheif officials fight for democracy and human rights,... Sign in to see full entry.

Creative "Publishing"...for all writers

As a writer, I have experienced the circumstances surrounding publication: I've been asked to join in on publications, displaying multi-author poetry or prose; had stories and novels rejected; given some nasty reviews; used assisted publication and self-published; been inspired and lost inspiration... The list goes on. As an American and believer in entrepreneurship and Joint ventures, I often dream of building a publishing company, from the ground up. And in that dream I see not only myself,... Holiday Blues

Well now, since the holidays are rolling around many people find themselves reminiscing about what's been and what's to come. I know I do. I get very meloncholy. I start thinking about family members who've passed on, my mom, my dad, and both sets of grandparents. I start to worry about what the coming year has in store for the kids, as well as for my husband and I. Will we be financially stable? Will everyone remain healthy? So far, things have turned out fine, for the most part year after... Sign in to see full entry.

The Money Game

The Money Game We all know the word currency when we hear it. But does anyone ever think about the term? I do. I see the monetary system as an ongoing racket, which has separated the people of America, as well as other countries, for years. “The more money you have, the more important you are,” is how they’d have us think. But don’t you believe it. Currency/money is simply a way to show your worth, without having to use the particular trade you gained money with. Does this make sense? Look at it... Investing in American Families

http://tv.msnbc.com/2012/11/24/president-obama-shops-local-with-daughters-for-christmas/ The President spent time making purchases in small business America, this weekend. As a past American entrepreneur, and wanna-be philanthropist, I'm overjoyed to see this happening. Many may know my beliefs in family/community reliance, and my loathing of capitalism. And knowing that many follow our model citizens' actions, I hope to see even more join in this concept. Sure, big chains like Wal-mart, Target,... Sign in to see full entry.

Abstract thoughts on Thanksgiving

Football, food, preparations for Black Friday, and stories of Pilgrims with Natives...? Not my idea of Thanksgiving; though I suppose we should be thankful to eat, watch sports without judgement, and have the money to shop for our loved ones. Personally, I am thankful for family and thankful for progress--two things that are paramount of time. I should also remember that having time to grow older and wiser may also be over-rated: a wise person knows that time is infinite. I am not of a... Sign in to see full entry.
