Holiday stats
It could be a sign of hard economic times, or simply a general resurgence of interest in Blogit. Whatever the reason, we bucked the recent downward trend in blog activity with overall numbers running 11% higher than the recently observed low point in activity on the fourth (282 active blogs to 254)....

Upward shift?
Yes and no. An early morning check of activity within Blogit over the last seven days (the period used in determining the overall Top 100) gave me a count of 268 active blogs, 14 more than I found in a similar check nearly 48 hours prior (see previous post). Compulsion
Try as I might, I cannot seem to overcome the temptation to check on the status and trends within Blogit. It is akin to my fascination with baseball statistics which, when properly evaluated, give a pretty good indication of the state of the game. I suppose my blogging stats give a somewhat similar...

Wow!
It seems like just a few days ago that I posted one of my category rankings here, not four months to the day. Several times I started to compile the data needed for a new ranking, but was defeated by a computer problem that made it difficult for me to get online, and even more difficult to stay...
