The very title of this post is bogus. "Defend the country" - against whom? The Iraqis did not present any threat to the U.S. interests anywhere in the world. Al-Qaida had no roots in Iraq. A reader left a comment to my last post saying that Sen. Obama is inexperienced, and that we need a leader who will not "buckle down under any kind of pressure on his convictions and beliefs". So Hillary conceded (not in so many words) and Obama finally, after many excruciating months of senseless haggling, won the Democratic nomination. He can take a breather, but not for long. The news came tonight that Barack Obama is leaving his United Church of Christ, of which he has been a member for over 20 years. This follows some inflammatory and over-the-top remarks by his pastor.
