A Changing Tide

After last week's challenges, things have changed. Feeling I couldn't wait any longer, I rang the Pension service to chase them up a bit. Definitely Up the Creek

I've been here before; at one point during my long and tortuous separation I had under $2.00 in my bank account, and the nice lady in Australia who was processing my 'Widow's Allowance' (for women separated after the age of 45) was wonderful. Car - thank you

I had some good comments around my car problems.. thanks all, and suffice it to say that it is being very well behaved now, having cost me a lot more than I thought it would. Naughty thing. Off the Bone or Skinned?

We took an elderly friend to lunch recently, at ‘one of the best hotels in the country.’ The three-course set lunch is excellent value, and we like taking V out from time to time. About this Blog

I started this blog in 2006, round about the time my 28-year marriage was unravelling. It was difficult for all concerned, even for my ex who handled the situation about as badly as it’s possible to do. The damage is still emerging, when I least expect it. The children are adults and both now live with their father in Australia. After the divorce, the future initially looked bright. It still does, although there are a number of complications. I have a new relationship to nurture, sometimes thrown into confusion through my daughter’s negativity when she visits. I’m a member of the church choir, which is really important to me. I think I’m happy, apart from those moments of conflict and opposition that we can all do without. Time will tell. To quote William Shakespeare: O time, thou must untangle this, not I. It is too hard a knot for me t'untie
