It's been a strange couple of days

in blogitland. Looking at new comments in the last little while, I've noticed I am one of the very few people up and active. That's one of the things about being the other way up I suppose. Everything happens when I'm asleep. The good side of this situation is that the internet means people in this... Sign in to see full entry.

Autumn Idyll

In dappled shade we sit, content, Your quiet stillness encircling me In your warm, secure embrace. We play and laugh together, And talk, and fall silent, serene. You are tired, you work so hard, You rest your head in my lap. The butterflies begin again When I look down at you and smile. Unimaginable... Sign in to see full entry.

Lines of Insomnia

I am a prisoner, His arm so heavy across my chest, His chin scratching my shoulder While he is sleeping, deeply. Salt water pools in my eyes And escapes, slowly, silently Drifting down my cheek. I want to turn over To ease the pain in my hip But his face is on my pillow. I have no room to move. In... Sign in to see full entry.

The Story of Mneme

Mneme means memory, and is the name of one of three muses, in one version of the myth. It didn't look too comfortable; he'd blown his nose, which bled, and the eye had suddenly started hurting badly and swelling visibly by the minute. I didn't need to be asked... Happy birthday Mum

I am a pacifist by nature, and today has been a bit of a test. I have had quite a nice birthday, lunch in the spring sunshine, and visits to friends. My son, back from his travels four days ago, was in town with a group of his friends, at a music festival. They have done this many times before and... Sign in to see full entry.

Big Picture Haiku

Also posted at Ypunday's DEO haiku page, on a theme of good overcoming evil. It has an unashamed Jungian perspective - I apologise if this seems too heavy for a weekend. psychomachia timeless battle for the soul on the world's stage tentacles of hate spreading vague malaise creeping hour by hour... Self-reflexive Sonnet

(Is there any other kind?) This is after reading.dave., who has written one that makes sense. Mine is about how incredibly hard these are to do. I have dropped in to Tonysonit a few times, I don't know how he does it. I cannot compete with Tonysonit, Or Dave in his Keswick country retreat; No expert... Sign in to see full entry.
