Crosses, swords, and six-pointed stars.
Why do our faith systems adopt such hard icons? Yin and Yang is an excellent vision of the nature of being. It enfolds in it's own fractal way to fuzzy infinities while the others cut, exclude and crucify. Yin and yang make everything all right.

It seems to be all about spaces. And what is between those spaces.
We are dividing the physical world more and more finely as we tease out the the truths that our hearts seem so ardently to desire. But will we recognize a prime mover if we should come across it? We peer with deeper intensity into the workings of telomeres that zip together protiens to form DNA. We...

Jesus may have never existed. This does not change my faith...
in the in-dwelling spirit of Christ. There was certainly no one named Jesus living in the middle east at the time Christ was supposed to have lived. The name did not yet exist. The evidence in the historical record for the actual existance of such a person just does not exist. This is odd...

I am crying for all...
of the misunderstandings. My soul wants to join my brothers and sisters in communion of spirit. As the crow soars by, angling to join her kind in sailing a thermal updraft. Wheeling avian joy of freedom. My chest is heavy. I need to release the pressure. Those few tears were not enough. I want the...

I am an ordained minister...
of the Universal Life Church. This ordination comes to me freely and with no caveat except that I strive consciously to always do the right thing. It is no trifling matter for me to do this. I believe that our spiritual nature is the best and most shining part of us. We are engaged in some ineffable...

I picked up a new book by Tom Harpur today.
This book explores and documents the fact that the ancient Egyptians had all of the exact mythologies of the Christian church. Long before the advent of Jesus Christ the Egyptians and other peoples believed in the coming of a messiah, a madonna and her child, a virgin birth, and the incarnation of...

The bible is a power-serving fiction woven by men
who lost sight of or deliberately co-opted the message of freedom from fear brought by Jesus. The inability of the indocrinated to see that the original intentions of Jesus would never have touched off the wars and acrimony that typify human affairs makes me sad. Mahatma Ghandi was more Christ-like...
