Baba Hassan

Our Adam is a rather naughty boy and he hears that from us often. I say it in English and his dad bellows it in Arabic, or to be more accurate, in the local dialect of Latakia: a Baba Hassan. I have no idea where this term originated from, and to be honest I don’t think anybody does; they just use it instinctively. The funny thing is: it’s not the usual reprimand for a child, but my husband used it once and Adam loved it! Now, it is part of the family folklore. Whenever Max says:” You know what...
