Copycats

Even better imitations don't do as well as the original as far as imitating the comic actor is concerned. For instance there are many copycats of Jim Carrey and even if they are good imitations, I'm willing to bet my bottom dollar none came close to earning what he does. The main reason is humor or... I'm no Comedian

One of our fellow bloggers commented she likes my posts but doesn't have any intention of being a comedian; neither do I. The reason why I am blogging about the hows to be humorous is I didn't find any here when I browsed. There is much content but I didn't see any about delivery. Humor is important... When attempting to deliver a joke, avoid laughing at yourself especially before you reach the punchline. Never give a hint that you are trying to make your audience laugh. Doing so will preempt and diminish your success. Watch the pros do it on TV. They maintain a poker or stoic face despite their... Sign in to see full entry.

Not Funny

Many people claim they are not "naturally funny". That is not true. Everyone can and have already made other people laugh. It is a matter of identifying and doing the same humor elements again and again. When people ask me to teach them how to be funny, I give them one answer: "Remember the time you... Why Doesn't Anybody Laugh?

I felt so embarrassed that I wanted to hide. Nobody laughed when I delivered my joke; it was just met with an eerie silence and blank faces. Has this ever happened to you? Well, it did to me and the experience was anything but pleasant. In fact I can still remember that embarrassing moment. How is... Sign in to see full entry.
