Sunday Lunch with Mummy Corpse....?

…..is what used to happen in Palermo. I was talking to a world traveler at the gym on Friday who had just returned from a Mediterranean cruise. As you may have guessed it wasn’t a tour of the famous landmarks; it was more a ghoul tour – OK bhoys and ghouls? (Sorry about that, I just couldn’t... Sign in to see full entry.

Is it Mrs. Jessica Clause, Veronica Claus or Sharpened Clause?

Does Santa’s wife have a first name? I realise this is not the kind of question you want to deal with on a Thursday morning. You would rather worry about the breeding habits of your pet rabbit, or whether your friendly slow worm is exerting itself, but put these compelling matters aside briefly and... I've learned a few things in the past 7 days.

Number one is that you don’t need to back up your computer to an external hard drive every month – You need to do it every week! This is especially important if the resident computer genius decides to use your computer as a guinea pig to download some updates and install a new programme at the same... Talk about being ditched?

I may, perchance, have mentioned casually a few thousand times that when it rains, we hire out our backyard to Canadian Coast Guard River Patrol who test their Sea-Doos’ maneuverability by scudding between the rose bushes. When it rains non stop for 4 complete days, the CBP take advantage of this... Sign in to see full entry.

Scotland; The most violent country in the developed world?

I don’t think so! In Canada, the machine gun fire woke us up three weeks ago. At first we thought it was the beginning of the duck shooting season, but our Scottish visitor, who is an ex-serviceman, informed us that shotguns, not Uzis, are used to shoot ducks. The previous month two men were... Sign in to see full entry.

Culling Magnetic Cattle?

Did you know that cows can die of ‘hardware’? They can, honest! Cows, as you may know, have more than the one stomach – I think it’s four, but I’m just regurgitating that information. Cattle also have a tendency to eat anything that happens to pass their lips. This includes metal such as coat... Sign in to see full entry.

NOW I know why my butt doesn't stop traffic....

…….and why no passing strange women stopped to help me wash my car or fold up that tarpaulin, as mentioned in a previous blog. We were coming out of the gym yesterday after I’d finished doing weights and Ell and her friend Em had been doing aqua fitness. To bring you up to date, (as if you cared in... Yahoo Boohoo!

Yesterday was a waste of time, thanks to Yahoo. My buddy in the UK sent me an invitation to join him on Yahoo Messenger so we could talk via the computer. I’m already on MSN Messenger so I didn’t envisage any problems loading Yahoo as I’d already joined in order to vote on the Blogit writing review.... Sign in to see full entry.

When I feel like shit, I tend to Ponder. Today I'm Pondering

That’ll be McNab’s official dictionary definition: Ponder – to skim lightly across the surface of a mucky puddle without getting dirty or stirring up any controversy / from the Greek for puddle and the Anglo Saxon ‘er’ meaning ‘ don’t rock the controversial boat or you’ll fall into the muck.’ At one... Runaway & Nanny Dogs??

For the second time this week, there is a dog running along the highway. Being of a sensitive nature, I pray it doesn’t get run down – at least not in front of the house, as I know who will have to clean up the guts. "This is the season for dogs to run away," Ell said. "It is?" I asked innocently.... Sign in to see full entry.
