ENTER THE DRAGON-LADY TO ASSUME A NEW ROLE

I think that part of what makes life less than joyful is holding on to little annoyances and grievances that I would do well just to give up. A case in point is an argument I had with a co-worker this morning. After she left my office, I realized that I was still holding on to what had gone before.... Sign in to see full entry.

I Feel Like A Broken Record...

because I keep wondering where time goes. Another three months have flown by since I've been here. I promised myself I'd come by and wish my pals a merry Christmas, but alas that did not happen. Funny, the time has only now come because I am at work at this ungodly hour of the morning at a New... Sign in to see full entry.

DEALING WITH OUR SITUATION

W ell, we got another sick leave certificate for my co-worker who has an additional 30 days off up to October 10. He'll be paid for two weeks out of four and hopefully will be in condition to work when the time comes. I spoke with his wife today because the company declined to pay for any more... MOPPING UP

Well, Azur was right. Things were pretty much taken out of my hands at work. On Friday last, my co-worker raved about people trying to wreck his career and that he was on cable television. He planned to do something about it, which was report ‘it’ to a police station. He left the premises, collected... Sign in to see full entry.

DOING WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE

I have a co-worker who just came back to work after a 21 day absence and is still no better for it. I can’t tell whether or not he’s taking his medication. My mind and his actions suggest that he’s not, in spite of what he told me. He was sullen and uncommunicative before he went off. Now he’s come... Sign in to see full entry.

ERNESTO DIDN'T COME IN FOR A LANDING, BUT...

w e are left with awful bloodsucking mosquitoes, whose bites are ever so painful! They've been at my feet ever since I sat down at this desk a half hour ago. If our body system was different, I'd have blood leaking out of all the 'missed opportunities' and 'successful landings' that a host of those... Sign in to see full entry.

HAITI, JAMAICA, CUBA, CAYMAN, FLORIDA – ERNESTO

B y all accounts, we ( Jamaica ) should start feeling the effects of Ernesto some time this afternoon. For right now, it is steamy hot and still as death. Yesterday, everything pointed to him hitting Jamaica dead on. This morning, thankfully, it’s a different story. If it continues on its present... Sign in to see full entry.

A MISERABLE EXISTENCE

I happened to come across an article here from the New York Times entitled Africa Adds to Miserable Ranks of Child Workers. The article serves as a stark reminder of the differences between the haves and the have-nots. Say all we want about people bringing children into this world that they cannot... OF DENTISTS & MOVING TEETH

A bout five weeks ago, I had a sleepless night. I had a massive toothache. One of my fillings fell out. I don’t want to dwell too much on that experience, so let’s move on. I told the dentist I couldn’t have anything more done but a temporary filling as we had the Caribbean Championships the... Sign in to see full entry.
