Potholes!

Our local town is Stamford. And the road system has changed little since the Victorian age. In the old days, there was no such thing as Tarmac so they just used ash from the fires. This was just trampled in and they hoped for the best. As you can imagine, road repair was just luck. But when the army came in during the war, they surfaced most of the roads with Tarmac. Many of the roads around here have never been serviced since. So when Potholes spring up the Council just hope a magic fairy is... Sign in to see full entry.
