What a charming fellow. *Tears up bit of paper deliberately & methodically*
"" In other words, KEEP DRIVING THOSE SUV's, folks, they are not evil! SUV's are a marvel of technological practicality and utility. They are imminently USEFUL without doing any inherent harm, therefore they are GOOD. The evils they are painted with by environmental extremists, are really just the evils of over-population. Stop having too many babies, and the oil will last for thousands of years, and the pollution will not be significant. SUV's fill a legitimate natural material need. Western...

Self-advancement
I have found once again that lessons can be understood, but they still need to be learnt. I have realised, no, had it hammered into me the effect of pride against good judgement. My resolution is to go around problems when necessary (not downplaying the importance of being able to stand one's ground). To do this I must remove the idea that it is somehow surrendering. If I have to, I guess I can sate my ego in compromise by telling myself how clever I am being and that the joke's on them. Did I...

Self-definition
We are constantly trying to assert who we are through these blogs. We are always something. American, English, Christian, Agnostic, Democrat, Republican, New-age, Goth, Punk, Hipster, Hippy... if you're not a Goth, Punk, Hipster, Hippy or whatever, you'll be having a laugh at parties telling everyone how sad/boring/independent/freaky you are. Half the time, when I say something about myself here I am as much thinking aloud as telling you what I know. Why do we have such a need to identify...

:S
Despite my best judgement I need to get these thoughts down - briefly I hope - before I go to sleep. They'll keep me awake otherwise. Experience is the best teacher; actions speak louder than words. All that stuff. I'm a clever guy, but I'm an optimist, and fairly reckless because of my (usually well-grounded) confidence. When I get something wrong, it is going to be overshot to the side of "optimism" and "recklessness". I understand this, and usually include my own bias as a factor when making...

Procrastination
Resolutions don't work very well with me generally; while I am capable of some pretty stubborn feats of willpower if I can say this is what must be done, always, some tiny little voice at the back of my mind counters: yea, but what if someone were to point a gun at your head? But this is my resolution. Get off my arse and do it NOW....Because, there's always later until there isn't... The small print: Unless later really would be better. If I am tired, I have a license to rest. Even if I just...

What is God? And stuff?
METTA Um? Not relivant to this post particularly, I'd just like to ask some heretic questions of you... You believe this is true, about Jesus-salvation and so on... How true? Do you know it for a fact? Or is there some part of you that bends? I mean... a muslim might tell you about how wonderful he feels in his prostration before Allah; do you feel sorry for him, or shake your head inside at how he is wasting his life at something which *obviously* is not true... I mean, if you believe what you...

NEWSFLASH! People are stupid
I find the subject a little tiring after a while. Sure, people are stupid... nothing we can do about it (apart from taking over the country by military coup and installing a regime which only allows intelligent people to breed, over time warping itself into a very social system in which stupid people are thought of as animals and subjected to being kept as slaves or beasts of labour... but people get upset about that). Hey, if you can keep it up without getting world-weary I salute you. Carry on...

Let's look into the theory.
"It's a beautiful world." "One life, so let's make the most of it." "Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die." Do you agree with this? It always seems to get a knowing nod from the internet community. Yep. So why aren't we out there, living life like a lover who we know must leave tomorrow? Take a moment to feel the wind on your face, air in your lungs, the touch of cotton against your skin. Look at the view you have before your eyes as if it were a peice of art. It is a beautiful world you...

-_-'
I think I'm gonna leave it finally. These ideas are a tangled mess right now; maybe I can write them later, or let them out a little at a time... well, I've already thought them enough for now, and writing them out wouldn't really do much more for me. Or maybe it would, but I don't have the energy. Eh. Good night people, I'm gonna leave this blog, for once, untouched tonight. I'm more feeling like writing scraps of story and stuff. Oh and, uh... that word beginning with S... can't remember, but...

A quick thought. I'm supposed to be writing the other thing, remember?
Ah, the great trick of the trade: get the audience begging before you give it to them. Hey... beg? Please? Anyway: my thought for today. What do you need money for? To live comfortably. To be happy. To be powerful. What do you need power for? To change the world for the better. How do you make money? Investment of work and money. You need money to make money. How do you get powerful? Hey, if you're going to go by the conventional methods you're gonna have to lie and cheat and smile a damn lot....
