My ramble for the day.
There's an NLP idea that the mind and body are connected. I call it "idea", well, it's pretty obvious isn't it? You can get addicted to crack. Don't eat enough potatoes and you feel down. Your heart stops, your brain dies. No shit sherlock! The problem with psychology is that, with all the different styles and factions, some pretty much cults, no-one agrees with each other enough to be able to find a common body of "fact". Therefore, in psychology lessons, everyone gets taught Freud, because...

FEAR
You ever been afraid of the dark? Remember when you were a kid? Walking alone at night, and all the shapes and noises on the edge of perception seem to be monsters getting ready to attack. You start to walk faster, then run. You keep getting more and more scared. They keep on chasing you. You get more and more terrified, break into a panic. What if, another time, you just looked straight at the shadow that seemed to be a monster? You'd see it's not really a monster. You can walk on. My response...

I have the answer to ALL of philosophy's questions!
Most of philosophy's big questions are just linguistic brainteasers. What came first, the chicken or the egg? The answer is in how you define them. Can you cross the same river twice? The answer is in how you define a river. If a tree falls down and no-one can hear it, does it make a sound? How do you define a sound? Does it mean what you hear, or does it refer to an entity that exists as itself? Why do you think these questions have lasted so long? Because they don't really have answers....

The TRUE elements
Many say there are four elements. Some say 93 or 94, although due to particle acceleration not even this can be said on solid grounds. But anyway, they're all wrong. After deep philosophication and experimentation, I have ascertained the FIVE fundamental elements that make up all things: Metal, leaves, flesh, oil and wk'd. I'm sure THAT strikes a note within the fibres of your being now, huh. Naturally, the stone and earth that makes up the non-living part of this universe is made up of varying...

What is evil anyway?
Good means "wishing others well" doesn't it? So evil must mean "wishing others bad". Seems to me most morally-inclined people have a rather esquewed vision of the "battle" of good and evil. There is no battle. Everyone calls things that they like good and things they don't like bad, (or evil if they are people). Religious and national issues a prime example. George Bush evil for starting a war? George Bush good for fighting against a war? Actually, George Bush is just an idiot. He isn't good or...

Direction to perfection>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Don't compare yourself to other people. Compare yourself to who you were and be proud, compare yourself to who you want to be and take it as a challenge. Look at someone lesser in skill as someone to help. Look at someone greater in skill as someone you can learn from. Love them all. There is no such thing as "good enough" or "not good enough". It doesn't matter whether your skills are considered good, bad or average - Because better is always better. Is your goal to improve or fit into society?...

Religion is idiocy.
From Wikipedia: " If Jesus foresees Judas' betrayal, then it may be argued that Judas has no free will, and cannot avoid betraying Jesus. If Judas cannot control his betrayal of Jesus, then he is not morally responsible for his actions. The question has been approached by Thomas Aquinas in his Summa Theologiae, which differentiates between foreknowledge and predestination, and argues that the omnipotence of the divine is not sufficient grounds for eliminating the existence of free will. " This...

Sex gods and soulmates
Well, actually, what IS love? "Love is different from attraction. Though sometimes they feel the same." So, supposing you fall in love with a jerk and spend your time forgiving his faults even when he makes you miserable. Would you call that love? Many people seem to use love to refer to a relationship that they approve of, and attraction otherwise. I'm still with my old theory - that you get lust and [platonic] love separately. Either of the two will bring you closer to the person, so they both...

Black, white and grey?
I read through a quick run-through of modern Iraqi history. Yup, Saddam Hussain was pretty scummy. I can't say that anyone else was much better. The more I read about politics, the more apathetic I get about it. Anyone who, consciously or subconsciously, thinks in black and white - "America = Good Iraq = Bad Therefore: Whoo yay America!" - is an idiot. Whether the current war was for better or worse, not a single polititian had the betterment of the world in mind. So I came to think in shades of...

What is man?
I don't think that I'll be making a quote blog out of this, but this quote, from the google personalised homepage, struck my eye: "Man is the only animal that laughs and weeps, for he is the only animal that is struck with the difference between what things are and what they ought to be."
