you don't appreciate sleep until you can't

As I told you in my last entry, I have had some sort of bronchial thing going on, for a week and a day now. As I was off work Sat. & Sun., I hoped to bounce into work today, feeling healthy and happy and blessed. Well, I did get the happy and blessed (always!), but healthy - weeellll, let's just say... And it's Friday night - are you sure it isn't full moon?!

It's been a very long shift. I still have the vestiges of the bug I came down with, and the symptoms "da jour" are coughing and laryngitis. Everyone keeps asking me what happened to my voice - I just tell them it took the day off. Sometimes, laryngitis can make you sound sexy, like Lauren Bacall. My... Sign in to see full entry.

Hello, again...

Hi, everyone. I am here at my job, borrowing the computer until I get my own in a few weeks. I have gotten accustomed to my little town, the bunkhouse I live in for the time being and the horses grazing in the pasture around me. I have even started to appreciate having no computer or tv. It's... Sign in to see full entry.

..and I put the deposit down on my new place...

It's an amazing little place, the town I'm moving to. I am well off of the beaten path, and it is so far out, it doesn't qualify as "Rural", maybe "Rur". I live in the middle of a pasture occupied by 8 rescue horses, 1 rescue bull, another neighbor with 3 kids and 2 dogs, and a mule and goats and... Sign in to see full entry.

Packing for the move, Chapter 1

As you know, I have been blessed with a new job as a Phlebotomist, and am moving in 4 days. Having packed entire houses for moves, you would think that packing the contents of a single room, which my brother and sister-in-law graciously moved me into when they rescued me from my ex, would be simple.... .. and the result of the interview at the hospital is...

I AM EMPLOYED, THANK YOU JESUS!!! I truly am still in shock - absorbing the idea that I don't have to hunt for a job any longer. I will be moving a week from today (Saturday) to a very small town in the middle of the state. I will be employed in my profession as a phlebotomist, and every day, before... The interview

Today, I interviewed for a position as a phlebotomist in a small hospital about 2 hours south of us. Rule of thumb dictates that when you have a job interview a)you make sure to go to bed at a decent hour, so you are rested and at your best; b)you leave early, so as to arrive early; c)you are... Tears of joy and sadness...

Into every life comes a family event that demands you attend. Short of hospitalization or amputation of a limb, your absence can create a firestorm of emotions that will be revealed with venemous gusto (usually during the next Thanksgiving, but I digress). In my case, "the event" was a wedding. My... Sign in to see full entry.

..and a job interview!

Today, I found out I have an interview for a Phlebotomy job in a tiny town in central Texas. Based on the conversation I had with the Lab Manager, this job sounds perfect for me. It never ceases to amaze me that just when you feel you're on the brink of everything falling apart, the Lord steps in at... Sign in to see full entry.

Baby steps back into life

Today, I finally ended my self-imposed solitary confinement. I had things that needed to be done, a wedding gift to complete before the weekend, and family who has kindly allowed me the time I needed. When my sister-in-law tried to talk to me, I did kind of fall apart again, but at least I didn't... Sign in to see full entry.
