This is the way the Canadians hunt...

I was home in snowy Ontario over Easter and sure didn't see a lot of Easter bonnets! Here is a photo of my great-niece on a Canadian-style Easter Egg Hunt! The coloured eggs were awfully easy to find against the white stuff! Hope everyone had a nice weekend! For those of you in the northern areas,... Sign in to see full entry.

She Loves You, ya, ya, ya!

I’m glad I was around to see the first Beatles’ performance on the Ed Sullivan show! It was February, 1964 and I was 9 years old. My family watched Ed Sullivan faithfully; it was part of our Sunday ritual which began with Mass, a huge brunch and our usual dinner of roast beef, Yorkshire pudding,... Sign in to see full entry.

How old is too old?

Eeek!! I've been branded as 'old'! On Sunday we were at the Boston store, a department store that from time to time offers lots of bargains on clothing. The sales are truly amazing...up to 80% off! We took the escalator down to the basement and gathered up some great stuff for my stepdaughters who... Sign in to see full entry.

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

Is everyone wearing their green today? Or maybe sipping a glass of green-tinted brew? My ancestors hail from Ireland, both on me mother's side and me father's side. Both families left during the potato famine and my maternal relatives emigrated to Canada, while my father's side of the family... Sign in to see full entry.

It isn't even Spring...

...but one can dream right? Or merely reminisce! It really was only last year when seedlings burst through fertile soil, growing before our eyes into the most beautiful blooms; the most gorgeous colours! These blossoms grow from the branches on a tree in our yard. The next few were taken on... Sign in to see full entry.

It’s melting, my little pretty!

Grass! I can actually see blades of grass! Hallelujah! I can almost see over the snow banks when I back out of the driveway. Circles of ice on the blacktop have turned into tiny streams rolling towards the road. My patio furniture is rising from under a pile of snow. Could it be? Dare I mention that... Ariala loves pizza!

At least I think she does. She certainly seemed to last night in my dream! It was one of those extremely vivid dreams, the ones I like to refer to as ‘real dreams.’ We had a lovely day together, Ariala and I, beginning with breakfast at a rustic sort of lodge. My fellow blogger made pizza in a brick... Sign in to see full entry.

From mermaids to alligators!

Somebody lost their dolly..quite a while ago it seems as sealife has attached itself to her. Out in the northern part of the Everglades, wildlife abounds......and vegetation grows...even on the water. Senior's fishing day! Watch out for those Florida critters......with the very long snouts! And... Sign in to see full entry.

Bonsai and beyond!

Gotta love those lil bonsai trees! Many of them are decades old but still small and contained to pots... There is such symmetry in the way the Japanese trees are shaped... And this guy held his place in the ecosystem... And in his sun-salutation! And now...back to the beach.... Sign in to see full entry.
