Don’t pick on my Pontiac

I heard on the radio that T.V. commercials for cars are causing people to drive fast or at least there is a feeling that they promote that behavior. The story cited Pontiac ads as one of the culprits. Hey, I drive a Pontiac! Don’t look at me, I aint doing no speeding. Why did they choose Pontiac... Sign in to see full entry.

Bomb blasts blamed on U. S.?

Terrorists like to blame others for their actions. Suppose I was really irritated with my neighbor, but since he is big and heavily armed, I instead cause harm to his wife and them blame him. Is anybody out there buying this argument? I hope not. The bombers may have a bone to pick with the U. S.... Sign in to see full entry.

Contemplating Leather, Lace and Stevie

Leather or Lace? I suppose depends on the place Where the material is residing. You can tell more from a face Than from what the adornment is hiding. Lace or Leather I suppose depends on the weather If the leather is a whip Aimed at my skin then I would rather Not go on that painful trip. So here’s... Sign in to see full entry.

My Opinion

My opinion is that my opinion is just my opinion, nothing but my opinion and my whole opinion, so help me (Insert the Deity of your choice here). I am not trying to sway anyone to my way of thinking (of course if you think any other way, you’re a damned fool). This is just a place to blow off steam.... Sign in to see full entry.

Blair, Bush and MJ

One wonders if in the last few days, British Prime Minister Tony Blair turned to U.S. President George Bush and said, “Thank God for Michael Jackson, now the spotlight is off us!” So it seems as the media fall all over themselves to cover “the King of Pop’s” latest escapade, or whatever it turns out... The election of 2004 is still nearly a year away and the political wrangling is warming up on the taxiway of public opinion, ready to take off and fill the skies of rational thought with innuendo and slander. If one is a Democrat (or... Sign in to see full entry.

Bias in the News

Do you think Rush Limbaugh isn’t worth your time? Is Bill Moyers an unabashed socialist? Bias can also be introduced when the “news consumer” ignores sources they disagree with. I have heard the argument “________ is full of it because they are too biased”. When one ignores these sources, important... Sign in to see full entry.

Bias in the news.

With all the clamor for our attention, have news agencies allowed bias to play a role in an attempt to sell their product? Are they trying to sway public opinion to fit their own political agendas? Ideally, the news is a report about current events. It gives us the who, what, when, where, and how.... Sign in to see full entry.

Snarling at life.

Underemployed, underpaid, underappreciated. Life got you at the bottom of the rewards well: Is that what’s bugging you buddy? So much rage seething just below the surface and now a place to vent! The recipients of this wrath? Government, hell they can’t do anything right, pay to much for it and are... Sign in to see full entry.

We can't see the forest if we wipe our ass on the trees.

With regards to forest management, the point has been taken that the timber industry clear- cuts and scrapes the forest floor all in the name of making money. The real point that so-called "friends of the forest" ignore or simply haven’t thought things through enough to realize is: timber harvest is... Sign in to see full entry.
