The week grinds on.

Nose to the grindstone, shoulder to the wheel could have something to do with the way that I feel. Sounds country to me. Hump day is officially done, now the weekend bears down like a freight train full of honey-dos. The cars are a Pacific Northwest shade of grey. The weather reports bode colder by... Martin Luther King Day.

I was pondering today what would be the best way to celebrate this mans’ life. I thought about a future scenario: “Mom, we studied Martin Luther King in school today, what was racism like?” The mother would furrow her brow, then answer “It’s been so long ago that I don’t really remember.” How long,... Irregardless

Why do so many people use this expression? The dictionary has this to say: Regardless, a nonstandard or humorous usage. Many educated people spout irregardless, regardless of its literal meaning, which to me says “opposite of regardless”. I think a lot of people use it just because it’s bigger, and... The BIG BANG

What existed before the Big Bang? That question is posed on the cover of the February 2004 Discover Magazine. A very ponderous question indeed. What would an outside observer have been able to see? Of course the answer is - probably nothing. It stretches conceptual credibility to imagine all the... Sign in to see full entry.

That story’s true, I’m here to say.

Streakers get surprised. You may have heard the story on ABC radio news this morning. Three young men decided to streak a Denny’s restaurant in Spokane Washington. It is winter there and so in the interest of avoiding frostbite and aiding a speedy getaway, they left their car, with their clothes in... Sign in to see full entry.

More on $ = happiness.

Recently I opined that money surely could equal happiness. Of course there were a few nay-sayers chiding me for being short sighted. A point was made that if you were healthy you were more likely to be happy than if you had money. I was ready to concede that point when I had a mild Asthma attack. A... Sign in to see full entry.

Our vehicles, our buddies?

Cars possessed by demon spirits? Do you know how to open the hood? Vehicles, can’t live with them, can’t live without them, at least not in this society. There are many simple things that you, yes you, can do when that cursed transportation tool turns treasonous. Car won’t start? Try this: turn on... Sign in to see full entry.

Has this ever happened to you?

You are in your car, and suddenly it takes over! Last night I got a call from a local gas station. The lady on the phone said my wife was in her car, it wouldn’t shut off, she couldn’t get it in park or neutral, the steering wheel was locked and the doors were locked. Needless to say, this sounded a... Sign in to see full entry.

It was a groovy day.

I was just walkin’ along singin’ a song, when the Crows and Ravens yelled, “stop that awful squawking!” That didn’t bother me; my glass was decidedly half full. Then some idiot turned it over, and now not only is it fully ungloriously undoubtedly empty, it looks like I peed my pants. Since things... Sign in to see full entry.

News of great importance.

Lets see, Britney Spears got married, then changed her mind. What happened, did she have to take the garbage out? Maybe she got herself un-virgined, decided that it wasn’t such a big deal and wanted him out. Could be he can’t kiss like Madonna. Why does everyone care so much about this? Is it a...
