Cats when they're cute

When cats aren't shredding the furniture or dragging in mangled mice, they can be cute. These two are usually chasing each other around threatening to knock everything we own over. But one morning I caught them on the bed in a cute pose. The first one is from a higher angle and the second is a... Sign in to see full entry.

Reflections

Bodies of water offer interesting opportunities to catch various reflections. Here, a dock appears to have a water color treatment in the reflections off the end of the dock. In a larger frame, the water presents a dimpled mirror for an abstract reflection. Sign in to see full entry.

Capturing a mood

Sometimes a direct photo of an event, such as the race my son and I went to over the weekend tells a story. This shot of his 1/10 th gas truck on the track captures the action as the truck enters a turn. But not every second of the race weekend is spent on the track, in fact during Saturday’s... Pets can live forever...

I burn about as much "film" on our cats as everything else. Face it, they are cute and after they are gone, you still have memories, not only of what they looked like, but if you are lucky, a glimpse of their personalities. Our Calico liked to sit in the barstool and watch me make my sandwich in the... Sign in to see full entry.

Springtime and babies part 2

Say hi to Honk and Bonk, two Canadian geese that live in a pond across the road from my work place. Every year they return and raise a brood of young fuzzy geese. The thing about taking photos of geese with young is you have to be very stealthy. Pick a spot and wait for them to swim by. That and a... Sign in to see full entry.

Springtime and babies part 1

Spring brings new life and photo opportunities with it. This longhorn calf, born the night before is already aware of where its next meal is coming from. Sign in to see full entry.

Mystery of the cat food

What's so mysterious about cat food? Nothing, unless it turns up in your cars' air cleaner box. With the "new" car closing in on 20,000 miles it was time to check the air cleaner. To my surprise, when I removed the air cleaner, their was a bunch of cat food in the bottom of the box. I was suprised... Sign in to see full entry.

One Shot

Some subjects require a few tricks to convey the message. Radio control car racing is one of those. These cars seem like toys, well, mostly because they are toys, very serious toys indeed. So when one wants to illustrate the action it can help to get down low, this makes the cars appear larger and... Sign in to see full entry.

The 1000 words thing

Thats what is is said a picture is worth, but I doubt one could describe a frosty weed in such as way as to imprint this image in a reader's mind. Sign in to see full entry.
