Problems in photography

Sometimes one wants to take a picture that is impossible to do. Take our cat (yeah, I know, it's always cats) the other morning he was sitting in front of the woodstove basking in the early morning rays slanting in through the window. This made for a cool looking halo as his backlit fur outlined his... Sign in to see full entry.

Even on dreary days...

There are photo ops if you happen to be lucky enough to catch them. As I was driving home the other day, I saw a layering of clouds against the mountians in our valley. I live about a mile up this valley so I had time to get my camera and tripod. This shot became the cover of my Christmas card. The... Sign in to see full entry.

Take two (at least)

A picture, it is said, is worth a thousand words, but if you miss the shot, not so much. What dreams may be...

Planning a project is always fraught with uncertainty. What will it really look like? The drawing isn't in color. What if we have the proportions wrong? All these things ran through our minds a few weeks ago as we sat at the kitchen counter until midnight sketching a design for the tiles of our new... Sign in to see full entry.

view progress

Share what is happening in your life with your family. These shots show the progression of our re-model, the ceiling and walls were textured today and primered this afternoon, already it is looking like it may be finished some day. The first shot is a view of the room with the new walk-in closet... Sign in to see full entry.

Save changes

When doing a re-model project, before, during and after photos not only preserve what was, they can also serve as a road map to what is. It is also fun to see what has taken place. The first shot is our old shower, with the toilet on the left. That is all gone now, and the next shot shows the room... Sign in to see full entry.

More reflections...snoitcelfer eroM

Reflections offer many possibilities including colors, shapes and varying detail. Pefectly clear reflections make you wonder if the picture is upside down, possibly. Usually one gets photos like this with the fan shape of the trees repeated and the colors splashed on the canvas of the water. Sign in to see full entry.
