WHY DON'T THESE BASTARDS RESIGN?????? Part 2
The Beat Goes On - as katray would say. Tessa Jowell, Health Minister, gave two keynote speeches yesterday at health worker conferences, and received a barrage of awkward questions, boos, jeers, laughter and slow hand-clapping. These are not bad people. These are nurses, on the whole, and they are...

WHY DON'T THESE BASTARDS RESIGN??????
It's not just America that's going to Hell in a handbasket - it's the UK as well. Just look at what we've had to put up with in the last couple of months... 1. It emerged that major donors to the Labour Party were almost automatically nominated for a peerage in the House of Lords. "Cash for...

HAPPY BLOODY BIRTHDAY, YOUR MAJESTY!
It's Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday today. Happy Birthday, Your Majesty! Yes, it's Damon. Damon Leigh? L-E-I-G-H? I'm one of your subjects, y'know? So, anyway, can we just get this land thing sorted? Us lot - everyone, like - used to 'own' Britian, and no one person 'owned' any of it. Made a lot...

I JUST GAVE AWAY A FOURTH TV!
It's been over five years now since I owned a TV. The moment I made the decision came in 2000. I was sitting in a flat in the Barbican, London - it came with the job I had at the time - and I was ready for a cozy night in. Take-away food was laid out ready. Beers in the fridge. TV remote by my side....

WHAT IS DIGNITY?
T said an interesting thing the other day. She'd read in a parenting book that, when changing a nappy, it's important for the baby to retain his or her dignity throughout the process. We both loved the sentiment behind this idea, but then I started wondering what it actually means. Now, I don't...

It's hectic. I don't know what else to say. The sun is shining, but I have little time to enjoy it. I've been working on several projects simultaneously, and now I'm off on tour again - London today and tomorrow, Oxfordshire tomorrow night, Stratford on Avon Friday, London again Friday night, Slough...

I'M LEAVING BLOGIT
You know, there's a time in every bloggers life where it simply has to happen. For me, the time has come. This weekend, there's a big property show happening at Exel, a huge exhibition space in the Docklands in East London. (It was only recently that I noticed that this lump of a building is named...

BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH - IT'S TODAY!!!
Mum and I share a home-office at her house and, hearing reference to 'the Ides of March' on the radio by a politician, she asked me what it referred to. We all know it's Julius Caesar and Shakespeare, but I Googled it and found out a lot more. Read on - and I apologise that them things that look...

CAN YOU COME TO MY 500th BIRTHDAY PARTY NEXT MONTH?
Sam is at his very best in the mornings, around 10am-noon, after his first two feeds and his morning nap. Mum, who lives just up the road, tends to babysit in the afternoons, a couple of times a week, when he can get a bit crochety. She rarely sees him at his gurgling, cooing, giggling best! So this...
