Why is Fear Such a Powerful Motivator???

Because it triggers the reptile brain. Accepting our animal nature is not that difficult a stretch. The "old" brain kicks in whenever there is a perceived threat. Saddly, a government may prey on this truth to motivate votes, blind support, and other forms of dysfunctional behavior. The good news: we can rise above our lymbic system through practicing Love, forgiveness, understanding, and compassion. Once the flame has been kindled, it cannot go out. A Post a Day Keeps Fear Away

It is absolutely true, in my experience, that, for the most part, we can keep fear in its proper perspective, by skillful management of our thoughts. Of course the skill and discipline required to manage thought effectively is no minor matter. I was at Ram Dass's Father's farm once in the 70's, when I heard him say: "If any of you can still your mind for longer than thiry seconds, you are already a very high being." Paradox Fear, blinds us to Love's obvious response

Fear and Love cannot coexist in the same reality. Either fear is or Love is. The truth, of course is that fear is false evidence appearing real and it has no real substance. Yet we give it its power and it blinds us to the Truth and Light of Love. It is like walking into a dark cave looking for the sunshine, Duh..... Wake up, my fellow Christians......
