Zarrah's 'not-so-hot' update...

Well I’m ready to talk a little bit about Zarrah’s 1 yr appointments at Sick Kid’s in Toronto. Things definitely didn’t go as planned and I’ll try and give you the shortened version as not to bore you too much. The surgeons base their decisions largely on weight gain with Zarrah and she has pretty... Sign in to see full entry.

A Few Of Zarrah's Pictures

Hi...I've had quite a few people asking to see some some pictures of Zarrah and I've got a little page ready to go. It has only a few photos for now. Thanks to all for the encouraging words. Zarrah is strong and will eventually put all this behind her. Her surgical appointments did not go so well... Sign in to see full entry.

I'm VERY Nervous!

Well I have to say that I’m getting a tad bit nervous. Zarrah is having her 1 yr check-up at Sick Kid’s and they’re re-assessing her progress. She has an appointment with her surgeon and her neonatologist. The big decisions will be about her next surgery, whether we can start reducing her meds, and... Sign in to see full entry.

ZARRAH'S COSTUME CARNIVAL BENEFIT

Yesterday a few service clubs in Collingwood held a ‘Children’s Costume Carnival’ benefit for Zarrah, to help pay for her medical supplies, hospital trips, meds, formula and upcoming surgeries. It was weird, but really amazing to see a community come together to help her cause. They had clowns,... Sign in to see full entry.

FACING THE PAST...

Well I knew the day would come, when I would have to face my friends again from before I knew about all of Zarrah's troubles. It's funny how I seem to push away the people that are closer to me, when the going gets tough. Yesterday in the grocery story I ran into an old friend of mine, well I guess... What Others See As Not Normal..

It's funny, I'm so used to the fact that Zarrah has had medical issues from day 1, that I perceive this as 'normal' for her.
