A Day of Death at the Clinic...............................................
As I pulled into the parking lot at work, I could see the doctor's vehicle and one I didn't recognize. Usually when the clients show up before we even open, it's a bad sign. Sure enough, it was bad news. Bo's owners, who have been doing all in their power to stave off the inevitable, had finally... Sign in to see full entry.

The Great Baytril Debate continues.....................................
I'm not saying it's impossible for Baytril to cause blindness. My problem is with telling new kitten owners, who've never had a cat before, that Baytril causes blindness when they are only going to be on it for a week. Tiger_leg3 replied yet again after consulting with her previous employer. Here's... Sign in to see full entry.

Question for other vet techs on Blogit.....................................
I routinely give feline health advice on a message board. Lately, another vet tech has joined and began giving advice as well. It kinda makes me upset but that is just a personal issue. No one likes to see what they consider their territory 'invaded' by someone else but I realize others have... Sign in to see full entry.

Update on Tigger, the possible rabies cat..................................
Well, folks, I gotta tell ya I was more than a little surprised when I went to work on Wednesday to find Tigger was still alive. He didn't look that great but alive is, for the most part, better than dead any day. After three or four days of keeping him sedated non-stop, the doctor decided we had to... Could it be Rabies???......................................................
One of our clients (who also happens to be my Great Aunt) called, upset and crying, to say she was on her way with a cat that was in distress. She must have FLOWN because she lives about 45 minutes away and I know it didn't take her near that long to arrive. When she came in the door, I was in the... Sign in to see full entry.

Another Ollie Update.......................................................
J talked to Ollie's owners yesterday. The happy news is that Ollie is almost back to normal!!! Yay! They report he is running around "like nothing ever happened". Back from the virge of death...okay, so maybe not that bad but it looked like it at the time. I still think he might not have made it had... Sign in to see full entry.

So, I heard from Ollie's owners this morning...............................
The phone rings. I know immediately it is Them with news of Ollie. The call I've been dreading... I almost screamed! Good news! Ollie is at least feeling better. He got up this morning and drank water all on his own! I feel like doing the happy dance! Of course he still could have a serious disease... Sign in to see full entry.

Praying for Ollie.........................................................
This is a weird story. Back in 1992 - 93 my best friend got divorced and moved back to town. She rented a house with another girl and got two cats - Shelby, a long haired gray and white pattern tabby and Ollie a siamese/ragdoll cross with short hair. Ollie's most distinguishing mark is a black... Sign in to see full entry.

We've done it! Our clinic gets a web site!................................
I've been "hinting" to my boss that the clinic would benefit from a website. At our last meeting, she finally "officially" agreed and www.catclinicenid.com was born! The site is far from complete, but I do have several pages up and running so feel free to take a gander and let me know what you... Sign in to see full entry.

My cat, Buddy, has liver issues. Where'd THAT come from?..................
I tried to attribute Buddy's weight loss to the M/D (metabolic diet) food we had switched him to about 8 months ago. Being a manx-mix, he's always been a big cat...lots of muscle...and a big hunter. A couple of weeks ago, I noticed his haunches looked kinda skinny and he had loose skin dangling... Sign in to see full entry.
