Okay so Marvin's a weenie and Banich has diabetes..........................

Such unfortunate luck my poor cats are having. Especially Banichi. The labwork came back and he is, indeed, diabetic as I feared. His glucose was 380 and high normal is 199. Ugh, I suspect Banichi is diabetic.........................................

Just what I need, a diabetic cat. The signs are all there, though, and I'd rather it be diabetes than kidney failure. Banichi lays in front of the water bowls and drinks A LOT. I've also been finding HUGE spots of urine in the litter box lately. Not to mention, he's a tad over-weight at 18+ pounds.... Sign in to see full entry.

What is it with me and misplaced animals?..................................

Cat Farts..................................................................

In all my years of living and working with cats, I don't ever recall hearing one fart. We have several kittens for adoption at the clinic.........................

There is one little red tabby, Marvin, that catches my eye in particular. He's very cute but I'm not quite sure I'm ready for another cat yet. Buddy is finally at peace..................................................

Yesterday morning, at about 9 am, I found Buddy lying on the floor in the kitchen in a large puddle of urine. He didn't even have the strength to make it to the litter box. Tragedy out of left field..................................................

I posted yesterday that my husband had let Buddy out when he left for work. I found out later that he had not. Do cats have a death ritual?...............................................

It is known that elephants will travel far to die in a specific area we call an "Elephant Graveyard". Most cats I've encountered over the years go off on their own to die. I want to thank everyone who said a prayer or kept a thought, for Buddy's safe return. He finally showed up and, of course, acted as if nothing was wrong. That's a cat for you! Buddy's missing............................................................

Buddy didn't come in last night. Now I can't find him anywhere. It froze and I'm so scared he might be dead. In his weakened condition, I don't know if he could have survived the cold.
