Recently visited by Blandly, poet, artist, novelist, and now, he tells me, actor and filmmaker. He ranted about old age and disappointment about science's inability to extend life span. Because of this, he claims, we're no better off than Neanderthals, who probably had as rewarding a life as us....

self-publishing
At this point, thinking that despite brutal vanity label-may do same, just to defray expenses. Is there anything terribly, terribly wrong with this? Figure I can get on "local author" shelf. If it is a good book, am I really better off hitting the grave without having done it? Jim
