Bush Administration wants to Kill Amtrak
How short-sighted can a government get? We need a national railway system for passengers. Amtrak has had problems due to money, equipment, etc., yet, the funding that they have been getting that helps resolve such problems may be witheld? That's assinine, Mr. Bush. The feds have given mega-gobs of money to the airlines; a fraction of that could fix and improve the railways for passengers in this country, offering a viable alternative to having to fly.
