Will Survivor Survive without Me?

Because of being functionally homeless at the beginning of the season, our home was having renovations accomplished, I missed the first two episodes of Survivor. I have not bothered to watch it since I already missed the first of the season. I have not missed it, as much as I enjoyed previous... Sign in to see full entry.

E-Ring

is a decent show, kind of simplistic in its plot and action, but there is action and tension. The best part of the show is the interaction among the various characters. I'll stick with this show a couple more episodes to see how it does with me. Sign in to see full entry.

Commander in Chief

Just watched Commander-in-Chief's premier episode and throughly enjoyed it. Ms. Davis plays the part of a strong woman very well, and the supporting cast is also good. This series, or at least what I saw of it is so good it will probably be cancelled! I certainly hope not. Sign in to see full entry.

New season comments

It looks as if the networks are going for hashed-over ideas, outright clones of shows, lame comedies and a total lack of creativity. If the networks don't start taking chances and giving us something worthwhile, they are going to completely lose me, and very likely many others. Sign in to see full entry.

Disaster Coverage

has evolved into a marketing campaign and an entertainment venue. We are becoming a nation of disaster/war addicts, getting more details than could possibly be helpful to us 24 hours a day. Lighten up folks; go to a play, dontate to a local charity to help those who need it; turn off the televised... Sign in to see full entry.

Crossing Jordan . . . .

Just finished watching a re-run of Crossing Jordan and it was pretty good. It was the one about the diner with all the people shot and the one lady, a federal witness, missing. One of the advantages of re-runs in the summer, I guess. It gives us a chance to see new programming that we missed... Sign in to see full entry.

Taken

When Taken was on the Sci-Fi channel, I missed it; I think it just did not spark my interest. But, having just rented the DVD, I am sorry I missed it, and glad it was put onto DVD so that I could see it. Just watched the pilot last night and will watch the second episode today sometime. Anyway, the... Sign in to see full entry.

New Series Announcements

So, the networks have announced new series; will any of them be good? Seems few will be. There are a few I hope return, Numb3rs, Law & Order, the Medium, and, wistfully thinking, some incarnation of "Dead Like Me." Is creativity among television networks dead? I think so. Copycat Executives

So much for creativity on television. If a popular law drama works on one network, they all try to copy the show, usually with inherent drabness; the same with medical shows, sitcoms and reality shows. They are not different from each other no matter how much they try, and they are usually horrible... Sign in to see full entry.

Disappointing Re-Make . . . .

The Re-Make Series, Battlestar Galactica, is a disappointment. Although it was not outstanding, the original Battlestar Galactica was fun to watch. The new series is so dark, for lack of a better word. The characters are forced, and the story lines lame, again for lack of a better word. Sign in to see full entry.
