Just watched the new BBC show

Primeval is an interesting show, a bit on the strange side, but that's British, right? I am still in the stage of mind of not knowing if it is one I will continue to watch; perhaps a few more episodes will tell. Anyone else see this show? Sign in to see full entry.

2008 Olympics . . . Ho Hum . . . Same Old, Same Old.

Few, if any readers, may remember the 1936 Olympics in Berlin which was a propoganda coup for Chancellor Adolph Hitler of Germany. It is pretty much the same in the 2008 Olympics, with China going all out to put on a faux attutude toward cooperation, and doing its best to hide the atrocities in... Sign in to see full entry.

SEX is Here

And it is growing. A prime example is that excellent show, "Saving Grace." The last few episodes have been downright racy with nude sex scenes. I could do without it. Nudity and sex don't offend me, but to throw it into a story for effect distracts from the actual plot. Stick to the plot and do not... Sign in to see full entry.

TVLAND is going to the dogs!

What is this crap with the endless hours of high school reunion stories? They have lost my viewership so long as they televise that trash. I tried watching a few minutes and discovered it was a soap opera, and not an interesting one at that. Sign in to see full entry.

Got a lot of reading done

Thanks to the writer's strike, I got a lot of reading done. some new episodes are starting to come back, but I have broken the habit of some of them because I had not seen a new episode in so long. Jerico is one of them. Sign in to see full entry.

Super Bowl is for Wimps

Another “Super Bowl Weekend” and there will be no television for me. On the “Great Smokeout Day,” I smoke a few extra; on Super Bowl Weekend I give up television. Sports on television has got to be the greatest waste of time ever. There is no point to arbitrarily choosing a group of people,... Sign in to see full entry.

Television is dying?

The cheaply produced shows are winning out over solidly written, interestingly plotted shows. We are rapidly losing out on network television. The salvation is in the cable specialty networks, such s the Science channels, Discovery, and so forth. That is where the intelligent will migrate for their... Sign in to see full entry.

Local TV News is Worthless

A recent on-line poll asked which morning news show we watched. My opinion is that the term “television news” is actually a joke. Television news, local and broadcast network, is actually entertainment disguised as news. Anyone considering local television news as journalism needs some serious... Sign in to see full entry.

Survivor Blahs

I still enjoy Survivor, but! I hate it when they do as they have done at least once each season for a few seasons. They have a show of highlights and "new scenes" that weren't shown the first time. I don't watch those. Keep on track and on topic, or if thre is a reason (sports show, etc.) then just... Sign in to see full entry.

I can't believe I'm still watching Psych!

It is not a "must see" show for me, but I still record it and watch it on the DVR. Last night I watched two episodes, the one with the cat was kind of neat, with the cat being my favorite character. The Civil War Reenactment episode was okay also, but that detective guy is sooooo dumb. I think the... Sign in to see full entry.
