NASA Constellation Program

This program is one that will get us back to the moon and thereafter to Mars. Wonderful program, read about it here at the NASA Link: NASA Constellation Program Great program. But! Obama wants to delay it for five years to use the money for some of his social engineering programs. What a Putz our... Sign in to see full entry.

Mars Program

President Kennedy got us off our tails and onto the moon. He was a progressive Democrat. Perhaps President Obama will get us back to the moon and on our way to Mars. One can only hope. Sign in to see full entry.

Commercial Rewards

In addition to the gain of pure knowledge, which is the primary reason I'd like to have us visit Mars, think of the treasures in the planet that we could use. Also, Mars would be an excellent place for a base of operations for scientists to study the universe, for a starting point for interstellar... Sign in to see full entry.

Betting on Mars Exploration

If we don't get our scientific act together, the Chinese will be on Mars looking down on us still piddling with getting back to the moon! Serves us right for dropping the science ball. Sign in to see full entry.

Mars Rovers

The Mars rovers are performing exceptionally well. NPR's Science Friday had a recent show interviewing scientists working on the various Mars projects. Go to NPR's archives to listen to the show. I can hardly wait for the manned flights to Mars to begin. Sign in to see full entry.

We'd better get to Mars soon

Scientists keep deeming other rocks as planets; soon we'll have more planets than we have time to visit! Need every big rock be a planet? From what I've read recently, three of those rocks will soon be designated as planets. From my understanding, Mars' moons are more planet-like than those rocks... Sign in to see full entry.

Has Our President Forgotten?

Has anyone else read anything about his stated plan to push a Mars mission to the forefront? A manned mission to Mars is the first step in our humanity; it is a necessity for our ultimate survival to get to the planets and beyond. Sign in to see full entry.

If Only for Safety of Our Species . . . .

Developing viable space travel may one day save not only our lives, but our entire species. It is not a matter of If, but When. When will we be threatened by some large asteroid or comet or some other literally Earth-Shattering object hurtling toward us from space. If that were to happen to us... Sign in to see full entry.

The First Step to Mars is the Moon.

And we have already been there, so it should be a logical project to now build a Moon Base from which to explore the rest of our solar system. A manned Moon Base could be used as an astronomical observatory with a great view, a starting point for space vessels to the other planets and a fantastic... Sign in to see full entry.

I get the disturbing feeling

that our leaders, the general public and "wise" pundits still do0 not understand the value of space exploration. They see expenditures in space exploration as a drain on our resources rather than as an investment in our future. Telling it straight, we, as humans, will not survive without space...
