PreBorn Innocence

It was a shame to interrupt this neonatal state of preborn innocence. The fact that she was self cradling as she rocked to and fro sitting knees pulled into her chest and arms wrapped around huggingly only added to her aura of innocent childlike vulnerability. And it was this aura that enabled and assisted the officers to remain nurturing and compassionate as they attempted to handle her out of the cage and into the showers. The two officers prepared the routine to take her out to the shower.... Sign in to see full entry.

Name It Claim It Dump It (Ode 2 Sr B)

Nell left the building and began to saunter along peacefully. How strange to be in such a settled mood. Strong, stable, calm and confident were the feelings presenting even though she felt a deep sorrow that permeated all of her experiencing. In an accepting manner she intentionally tried to attend to this pain. “Name It, Claim It, Dump It, doesn’t work if you are still in the experience of facing the trauma that is creating the pain,” she thought. How strange the world is. As Nell walked slowly... Sign in to see full entry.

“God will give us no more to handle in any given day than we have..........

“Wow I have never heard of a topic like this before,” thought Nell as she slowly walked up to take the floor. She was quick about identifying. Her acknowledgement was as a grateful member of the fellowship and to her guiding HP. “No need for an ID,” she said “I drank enough to get me here.” The hassled woman stumbled as she began to share because it was such a difficult topic. “I think the answer to that question lies in the idea that…. “When we as a group see the intensification and escalation... “Why Do Bad Things Happen To Good Alcoholics Working Their Programme?"

Running released a huge ammount of wrathful energy so that by the time Nell reached Herschel St she had calmed down. Unpleasant as it was to be outside the place where Annie was locked, it was still familiar terrain and she felt comforted by being in familiar surroundings. In her work as a Psychologist Nell was often stationed here to talk to the clients before they were transferred to the Royal Brisbane detox unit. Nell looked up at the Suncorp Clock – plenty of time. She plopped on the bus... Sign in to see full entry.

Rage Rose Rapidly

Nell struggled to put up with Bob at the best of times. If Patience, Tolerance, Love and Justice are the code of AA then Bob had been sent to bring each member to a point where by they had to surrender. Forever meddling and proffering his advice Bob had sent many a potential member fleeing from the rooms of the fellowship. “Pushy, conceited, arrogant and a pain in the neck,” accusing words shot through Nell’s wearied mind. When she could be alone engaged in meaningful activities like cleaning... Sign in to see full entry.

You Are The Anchor Of A Ship That Has Set Sail

There was no way she could get to the Ferry but she still kept running. “Well,” said Nell turning inwards now that Shari had gone. “I better start by getting my own little safe harbor ready.” The tiny two bedroom flat was a mess. Washing up sat soaking in the sink and the dirty laundry was strewn across the bathroom floor. The torn newspaper flung in a fit of fury was littered across the living room. Chaos looked like it lived here. “Ain’t it amazing how quick we are to slide backwards?” The... Sign in to see full entry.

Respect

Love Self Love Others Trust God Respect Shari felt too embarrassed to follow Nell home without her knowing that she was there. She felt as though she had been an inappropriate and intrusive witness when the shaft of light descended through Nell as she squatted at the Rock Pool defeated and forlorn. It didn’t phase her too much to see Nell’s body drawn gently upward, glowing and golden. It was as though a puppeteer who gently and lovingly drew up the slack of strings that dangled beside the... Knowledge of God’s Will For Me And The Power To Carry That Out

Nell had never felt this much like a drink. She was only just capable of being present to her own thoughts. Even before becoming a Psychologist the awareness of the need to stay present and witness crazy thinking had been impressed upon her. “Your major defence against the first drink,” Coey had said, “is your awareness of the thoughts that tell you to drink it.” “Beware the voices you witness they will criticize you, judge your actions, talk down and play with you! At times you will become a... Sign in to see full entry.

Drunken Sailor!

Dick walked to the glass and looked in. Sadness made his shoulders droop heavily. He felt that his movements had slowed and that the scene was trailing before him in slow motion. The harsh lights shining on Annie made the scene fantasy like and unreal. Whilst his sentiments took him towards feeling pity for poor pathetic Annie, his personal education about emotions and how to manage them also told him that he could take control. Pity is worthless. He knew that he could if he mustered the will;... Sign in to see full entry.
