TIGGER

At first I thought she was kidding. What could possibly be wrong with this little kitten? He was the perfect example of health, no ear mites or sneezing. No runny eyes. His fur was shining and healthy. I looked to Joann and the doctor for an explanation. " His mother was just put to sleep. She had... Sign in to see full entry.

Tigger

I walked into work that morning totally ignorant of how that day was going to change my life. As I walked past the reception desk, Kelly looked up from her paper work. " Go look at what we have in the box on the x-ray table. It's really sad. " I took my time walking down the hall to the laundry room... Sign in to see full entry.

Deuce Boy

This went on for quite some time. Then one evening he seemed to be slipping away, I thought to myself that it was time, if he lived until morning I would talk to Dr. Skinner and ask her to come after work. My mom came into my room and stroked his head. No response. She agreed and the tears started... Sign in to see full entry.

Deuce Boy

The smell of infection from his mouth was almost unbearable but he was not ready to give up on life and he reminded us of this daily by wondering out occasionally through the house to bunt our coffee cups with his bead spilling the scalding contents down our fronts and swatting the other cats... Deuce Boy

We stopped letting him out, without supervision. That was sad because daily adventures had always been a major part of his reason for living. We tried to get him out once a day so he could sit in the sun, the whole time watching anxiously out the window and running for the door ever time he moved.... Sign in to see full entry.

Deuce Boy

The doctor gave Deuce an injection of Lasix to help draw the fluid out of his lungs and told my shaken family that he thought the immediate crises was over, however Deuce would need medication daily to prevent the fluid from building back up. That was okay we would do anything for the Deuce Boy... Sign in to see full entry.

Deuce Boy

When we were just a few blocks from the clinic I heard his breathing start to ease. I bailed out at the front door and ran for it. It was Saturday and the clinic as closed, so I had to do battle with the forever obstinate lock. By the time I got it open, Mariah was there. I hollered at her to get... Sign in to see full entry.

Deuce Boy

I started dialing my cell phone. First I tried Dr. Skinner, she didn't answer so I hit end and keyed in Dr. Peterson's phone number, while running for the pickup, Mom was already behind the wheel. Regardless of whether or not I reached my boss, I would still be in a better position to help Deuce at... Sign in to see full entry.

Sad time

Well my Pumpkin made it though the holidays. I prayed hard for that but at last I had to let him go and give him the freedom from his earthly body that he so desperately needed. I raised him from about day 5 of his life. He has been beside me through some of my worst days. I would be crying and he... Sign in to see full entry.

Deuce Boy

He was shot with a pellet gun, trying to have a neighbors $1500 racing pigeon for an hors d'oeuvre. His shoulder was broken by some unknown cause, backed down numerous very large dogs and was always on antibiotics for one wound or another. Arthritis set in and he started showing signs of kidney...
