the workshop

Okay, so we lately talked about the workshop for the Saints earlier this month. My first workshop, so I didn't go for huge attendance and just invited about 12 people. Eight turned up, some of them without confirming, so it was great to have all the seats filled - eight exactly, on the patio, in the... Sign in to see full entry.

meditations

Back in full swing after my convalescence. The night I was admitted to hospital in July, I asked St Michael Archangel to come in and stay with me. I felt a wonderful presence as, in my mind's eye, I saw him sweep in and install himself with me. On 9th October, I marked my return to good health with... Sign in to see full entry.

Visible inspiration

Today, I received encouragement in my saints quest. I spoke to a small group of people about my favourite group of saints - the Buddhists - and I felt them becoming present and alive through being spoken about. Faces lit up with inspiration, and with renewed hope. The saints are not the first port... Sign in to see full entry.

Saintly inspiration through TS Eliott?

I have made my research on Buddhist Saints official by going along to the Buddhist centre and proposing a series of talks. Very brave, some might say. Very stupid, others could say too, and probably be right. Very stupid, because I'm getting to be an expert on the Saints, but not on the whole... Sign in to see full entry.

Saints and misfits - Martin de Porres

This weekend, two Germans, one Black Zimbabwean, and one Zimbabwean of mixed ethnicity (coloured) sat down and talked. We discussed Zimbabwe, it's history, the World War II Jewish holocaust, German people past and present, and withheld nothing. We talked about coloured people. We were the ones stuck... serenity - an accident and a saintly act

The cars were piled up on each other, one upside down, the other on top of it. the windscreen of the top car was completely shattered, and a woman, dazed and sobbing, stood outside it, pulling glass out of her hair, and picking it out of her skin. The ambulance had not yet arrived, but people were... Sign in to see full entry.

St Francis still...be a channel for great and good

I'm still thinking of St Francis today as I go through my activities. "Make me a channel of your peace," he said, understanding what we so often forget or remain ignorant of all our lives. Yes, we are channels for energy, healing, peace, every positive blessing and feeling we can possibly give. We... Sign in to see full entry.

Today - Real saintly help and inspiration

Today St Francis was my hero. My absence from my daily blogs over the past days has been due to my recurrent visits to Zimbabwe Immigration, where you wait, are told to go home and come back the next day, and have endless delays until you get what is required. "Angels and Saints, walk with me," is... Sign in to see full entry.

Saint story - Mahakasyapa and the leprous washer-woman

Mahakasyapa left his wealthy life to follow the path of englightenment. He was privileged to meet the Buddha and live enlightenment with him. Mahakasyapa's account of the meeting goes" "I approached the Exalted One, bowed my head at his feet and stood to one side. And as I stood to one side, I said... Sign in to see full entry.

Saint story - restoring dignity to the humiliated

St Theresa of Avila talks about humiliation in her works on spirituality and the soul. Humiliation has its value in the sense that it is and opportunity to receive, confirm or activate dignity and humility. A wonderful inspiring story for today, is of a Saint, the Buddhist saint Upagupta who... Sign in to see full entry.
