According to a news story, the Boston Globe, admiitedly a liberal newspaper

asked people who live in Egypt and other places in the Middle East about the spread of democracy in the Middle East and most of these people said that they did not believe that Bush or the USA was interested in deomocracy per se, but only in thieir own interests in purusing this brand of democracy.... Katray has an amazing post that says that church members

in North Carolina were excommunicated from their parish church because they didn't vote for dubya. This is incredible on many levels and I am not even sure I believe in what she has written but it sure is strange. Sign in to see full entry.

Ann Colter's popularity does not bode well for American

politics. Conservatives everywhere, particularly on blogit, are always harping about how liberals cater to the lower common denominator of hate in their blogs, but Colter seems to harbor only hatred in her works which praise the neoconservative movement and this polarizes everybody who disagrees... This recent unrest over Terri Schivago or whatever her

name is seems rather needless. It is really nobody's business but her husband and her parents both of whom seem incredibly quarrelsome. They have had fifteen years to become accustomed to the idea of Terri's death. I understand that it must be terribly hard to let her go, but they have quarreled... Sign in to see full entry.

Kerry is thinking of running again? Good Grief!!!

Sen. John Kerry was not content to take one licking. He is dying for another. He is blaming his defeat on the way his pr team handled him rather than on the way he ignored personal insults on his patriotic character by an inferior patriot. He also conceded that this person had the upper hand in the... Sign in to see full entry.

This Terri Schiavo controversy in just a bunch of hogwash.

I'm certainly sympathetic to the Schiavo family but though this is a terrible personal dilemna to them, it hardly constitutes a national emergency or anything approaching that category. Had this person's plight occurred in Bismark North Dakota instead of in Florida, Dubya would have ignored the... Sign in to see full entry.

I had the most direct contact

with a political campaign the last few months when Linda Doracena Forry swept over four other candidates to win the seat vacated by Tom Finneran on Tuesday March 14 th. Initially, I was so impressed by Linda that I even volunteered to man the phones for her one Saturday in early February, but the... Sign in to see full entry.

Dubya's Flight to Freedom

People, neo cons particularly, are giddy with Dubya's supposed lead to freedom of the Middle East, but as with all my thoughts with Dubya, this development is clouded with doubts. Dubya has done more than his share of weakening the freedoms we enjoy in this country never mind going abroad and... Sign in to see full entry.

I do think I ought to express a vote of gratitude to all those

brave Iraqis who dared to risk their life and limb to paricipate in whatever form of diluted democracy that dubya can grant them. I doubt that we'll ever see democracy as a viable form of government in more than one or two countries in the Middle East, but that does not detract from the bravery and... Dubya plans to revamp the Social Security System.

Hmmm. Why? We are in no immediate danger of going under and even if we were, Dubya has been proven to be a dreadful businessman. He is going to use his ham-handed tactics to hammer even Social Security into oblivion. This venture is a little like Iraq in that he proposes a danger that doesn't exist...
