Kevin Youklis hit a clutch home run in the ninth inning to
put the Red Sox over the Detroit Tigers on Friday night. Youklis had had a tough game eariler. He had struck out twice, was 0-3 and had made an embarrasssing error in the eighth that could have cost the Red Sox the game, but when Mark Loretta managed a single with two outs, he though the could have...

The Red Sox behind the pitching and hitting of Josh Beckett
beat the Philadelphia Phillies 8-4 on Saturday night. Beckett hit a run scoring single earlier in the game and then hit a home run for the first home run by a Red Sox pitcher since 1973. Shortstop Alex Gonzalez also hit a home run to run the Sox lead to 8-1 until Phillie first baseman Ryan Howard...

The Sox just took two out of three from
the Orioles which wasn't all that bad, but they wasted a good performance by Tim Wakefiled on Wednesday night that would have been a nice victory. They lost 4-3. They face the Philadelphia Philllies over the weekend and lead the New York Yankees by.5 games in their division.

The Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles three in a row over
the week end and that is a welcome development as the O's have been pesky over the years. In fact, the Red Sox have won ten in a row over the Orioles. It is good to win as many games against divisional rivals as possible. Tonight, the Sox play the Yankees for the first of three games in Yankee...

The Red Sox managed only one victory against the
Tampa Bay Devil Rays and that victory was a case of the Devil Rays' manager handing them a victory by taking out his starting pitcher for little reason. The Sox have not managed to produce a coherent offense so far thjis season and their starting pitching has given up leads to the other team....

Tampa Bay "managed" to give the Red Sox a victory last night. Devil Ray
starter had the Red Sox dazzled until the fifth inning last night before the Red Sox managed to score any runs at all on a Manny Ramirez home run, a Trot Nixon double and a walk to Jason Veritek.

Curt Schilling is making me look like a jerk.
I was sure that his career was over but he has now won the first four games of this season and is one of the best pitchers of the American League. Yesterday, with Schilling on the mound, the Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 9-1. I should have my face slapped. Go Curt! The Red Sox are 2.5 games...

The Boston Red Sox beat the Seatlle Mariners 7-6 yesterday on
a Mark Loretta walk off home run in the ninth inning. With two outs, Kevin Ukalis beat out an infield hit that preceeded Loretta's game winning blast that secured a see-saw game in which the Mariners kept inching ahead, but Red Sox home runs, (two by David Ortiz besides the game winner by Loretta...

The Red Sox lost to Toronto 8-6 yesterday to lose
two out of three in their first home series of the year. Matt Clement got whacked around in the second inning for six runs last night as he gave up a grand slam to Vernon Welles. Clement has not been the same since he got hit in the head by a line drive last year and I think it will be hard for him...

With yesterday's 4-1 victory over the Baltimore Orioles,
the Red Sox completed a sweep of the Birds and boosted their record to 5-1 for a successful road trip to start the season. Curt Schilling has already contributed two strong outings which was two more than I thought he was capable of and Josh Beckett has one strong performance behind him. Tim...
