I want out!
I know it's time to go... So how am I going to escape? Can I live without the office? My partner already does. Can I make a 'just enough' living and spend more time working for good causes? Is my writing good enough to feature in a few magazines and bring in a few pennies? Will we ever set up our smallholding abroad and grow our own food? I have to. I'm going to spend a few weeks sitting on an isolated beach on an island cut off from everything - have even bought a notepad as I don't want to be...

Alas - still sobbing at Voyager9940's departure

Peter Kay to Release Comic Relief Single on Monday
After a terrific response to his 'Amarillo' Video last night on Comic Relief, Peter Kay will be releasing the song to raise further funds for the Red Nose Day pot. Peter mimed to the song in a superb short film shown last night on the BBC. The film included cameos from Keith Harris and Orville, Deidre and Ken from Coronation Street as well as an outake of Ronnie Corbett flying off a jogging machine backwards at high speed - worth a look if you haven't yet made your contribution....

Why are we feeding so much junk to our kids?
When you consider that our kids are the ones who will be calling all the shots when we're sitting in the Old folks homes...are we really setting them up for success? Tomorrow's kids will need to be more savvy than us about the survival of humans on a planet that will be overheated and unpredictable. Unfortunately dinnerladies give them curly fries, cookies and fizzy pop for lunch at school. When they get home we give them pizza and chips - maybe we give them a Fruit Shoot drink just to make sure...
