Every morning the world is created by Mary Oliver

Every morning the world is created. Under the orange sticks of the sun the heaped ashes of the night turn into leaves again and fasten themselves to the high branches --- and the ponds appear like black cloth on which are painted islands of summer lilies. If it is your nature to be happy you will swim away along the soft trails for hours, your imagination alighting everywhere. And if your spirit carries within it the thorn that is heavier than lead --- if it's all you can do to keep on trudging... Sign in to see full entry.

Here soar

Here soar, Not with wings, But with your moving hands and feet And sweating brows- Standing by your Beloved's side Reaching out to comfort this world With your cup of solace Drawn from your vast reservoir of Truth. Here soar Not with your eyes and senses That turn their backs On the earth's sweet stumbling dance Which needs you. Here love, O here love, With your mouth tender and open upon your lover, And with your heart on duty To the souls of rivers, children, forest animals, All the shy... Sign in to see full entry.

Hafiz It Happens All the Time in Heaven

It Happens All the time in Heaven It happens all the time in heaven And some day It will begin to happen Again on earth- That men and women who are married, And men and men who are Lovers, And women and women Who give each other Light, Often will get down on their knees And while so tenderly Holding their lover's hand, With tears in their eyes, Will sincerely speak, saying, "My dear, How can I be more loving to you; How can I be more kind?" - Hafiz Sign in to see full entry.

Just Sit There - Hafiz

Just Sit There Just sit there right now. Don't do a thing. Just rest. For your separation from God Is the hardest work in this world. Let me bring you trays of food And something That you like to drink. You can use my soft words As a cushion For your Head. Hafiz (Translated by Daniel Ladinsky) Sign in to see full entry.

Hafiz - TAKE ONE OF MY TEARS

TAKE ONE OF MY TEARS Throw it into the ocean and watch the salt in the wounds Of this earth and men begin to disappear. Take one of my tears And cradle it in your palm Mount a great white camel And carry my love into every desert, Paying homage to every Prophet who has ever walked in our world. O take one of my tears And stop weeping only for sadness, for there is so much More to this life Than you now understand. Take one of my tears And become like the Happy One, O like the Happy One-- Who now... Sign in to see full entry.

One Song - Rumi

One Song What is praised is One, so the praise is One too, many jugs emptied into a huge basin. All religions, all this singing, is one song. The differences are just illusion and vanity. The sun's light looks a little diffferent on this wall than it does on that wall, and a lot different on this other one, but it's all one light. We have borrowed these clothes, these time and place personalities, from a light, and when we praise, we're pouring them back in. - Rumi Sign in to see full entry.
