Tea Party

Tea Party As I sit with my unfinished poem Little feet run up to me Papaw, come play with me? Papaw, come play with me? Come on you're not too busy I thought with my thoughts I was all alone Till I heard the cry from the hall And heard the footsteps so small And I was not alone at all When I heard her sweet voice call And when she turned to go with tears in her eyes My heart it began to sob Of her kiss I had just been robbed My head it began to throb And my tears began to drop No more words for... Through It All

Through It All Times of joy and times of sorrow, lost yesterdays and tomorrows In all this we will have our part, why let it grieve our loving hearts? Of joy why do we want so much, we think we won't feel sorrows touch? Methinks we want much too much of one, a little too little of other one At times we'll see the mountain top, at times to our knees we will drop There will be seasons of sweet peace, and boisterious winds that won't cease Valleys so low, mountains so steep, dreams in our hands,... Write Me A Song

Write Me A Song Write me a song that's low and sweet One that tells the story complete That speaks of meadows and of fields Whispers of valleys and mountain thrills Paint the beauty of the rising fog Pleasure of sitting on a fallen log Tell the music of the whippoorwill Graceful waltz of lily pad and frog Make sure it's easy with gentle tune Filled with love beneath silvery moon Melody that brings tears to my eyes Thinking on beauty of days gone by Let my ears feast on banquet divine Words... Rain On The Roof

Rain On The Roof Oh hear the rain on the roof of tin Like the faint echo of a distant drum Hear it sing and hear the guitar strum Hear it dance softly upon the wind Since I was a child we have been friends Feel it take you back to days of your youth When life was simple and times were hard And our playground was out there in the yard When a mans handshake was the honest truth Remember the pitter patter playing on the roof In the stillness I like to listen still to all of it's words It's hard to... Sure Missing Her Today

Sure Missing Her Today Oh I wish I could talk to mom just one more time She always knew exactly what to say With just one touch she'd cheer this ole heart of mine I sure am missing her today Her smile would brighten the darkest of nights She knew how to put a smile on my face When she walked into a room, the room became bright I sure am missing her today I remember watching her with her hands in the soil Her flowers made a beautiful bouquet Her hands were never idle, oh how she did toil I sure... A Poets ABC's

A Poets ABC's A is to be different like Antonym Or similiar like a synonym Seaching for a word, That's not too absurd Like a song on a mandolin B is to be like Beethovan To be a bright beacon To sing an ode to joy To be a messanger boy The poem to sweeten C is to answer the Call Though your back be to the wall To search until you have found The perfect song, the perfect sound To find the beauty in the small D is for the lasting Dedication To always manning your station When there is no applause... When He Whispers My Name

When He Whispers My Name In the stillness when He whispers I am the truth I am the way What more does He really Really have to say Let the bombs burst loudly I don't hear a thing In the stillness when He whispers When He whispers my name When He whispers my name All fear it is gone When He whispers my name I can carry on All is peace and joy No darkness do I see When He whispers my name It's easy to believe In the stillness when He whispers My child peace be still I rest in His arms In the... God Will Surely Suffice For Me (villanelle)

God Will Surely Suffice For Me I'll argue not with fate you see The good my eyes will look to find God will surely suffice for me I'll not complain my lips will be In song with praise to thee so kind I'll argue not with fate you see Content with what He knows I need In Him all peace I know is mine God will surely suffice for me No one but Him is good you see My life to Him I am inclined I'll argue not with fate you see He leads me in the path so free My eyes they see that once were blind God... Ride Little Horsey

Ride Little Horsey Ride little horsey strawberry town Be a good little horsey don't fall down Sweetest little song I ever heard Sweeter than the song of a little bird Faster, faster she shouts with glee That's my little Gracie on my knee Do it again just one more time Says that little granddaughter of mine She laughs and laughs as horsey falls down I guess I'm the best little horsey in town She gets right back on with that little grin Safe to say she is papaw best little friend My little cowgirl...
