Plain batter for shrimp

1 egg, slightly beaten 0.25 cup (one quarter cup) water 0.5 cup (half a cup) Bisquick or other biscuit mix 0.25 teaspoon (one quarter teaspoon) salt, if desired Mix the egg and the water; beat in Bisquick and salt (if you want the salt).
