The Safety of Home
People don't understand Ellie's OCDs. My heart is breaking tonight, as a good friend took Ellie to Starbucks this evening and got so frustrated with her that she swatted her behind in front of many people. Ellie was crying so hard when she told me, that she couldn't even speak through her choking...

A Good Day
Ellie is up early today. So far, no sign of her OCDs. I am hoping for a good day for her. She is watching some cartoons right now, eating a bowl of cereal, and playing with our new puppy, Russell. The sun is out bright....the temperature is perfect, the air is still. One of those couldn't be better...

Hoping
I wish Ellie would pick up her journals and begin writing again. I am hoping that once summer is over, and school begins (in our case, home school), that she will be more motivated. I don't want to push her, just encourage her, so I bought her some new writing tools off of starfall ( a reading...

Obsessive Compulsive
Ellie has a lot of Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. My heart aches for her as I see her running her hand over the side of the dishwasher or a table end again and again and again, trying to "make myself even" as she says. Anytime, Anyway, Anywhere
Today Ellie decided to make a list of everything people could use the ocean for. She said swimming and fishing and sailing. I told her how good that was...and then we read some on water pollution and different organizations that are helping by trying to get limits passed on how much waste industries...

Dictionary Writing
Elizabeth is feeling better and has decided to focus her writing efforts on her new dictionary. Writing words she doesn't know under the appropriate letter headings on the pages. Her vocabulary is quite astounding. I just wish that she could shake this OCD she has. It really trips her up sometimes....
