Pulling the Ripcord

I hadn't intended to break into the story with a personal note, but I've noticed something peculiar over the last few days. Mooned

A shot of the moon I took on the same evening as the two previous sunset pictures. The original image was much larger and the moon much farther away, but there was nothing else in the sky so it wasn't that interesting. So I loaded it in IrfanViewer, zoomed in and cropped it. Flyby

Another one taken on the trip to Toledo and Newport, not far from the bridge in the previous picture. A helicopter approached at one point, and just for the hell of it, I zoomed in and snapped a picture while it was still quite some distance away. This one shows another reason why I love my Z612:... I almost always take a camera wherever I go. I keep it in a pouch on my belt, just in case I happen to see something that looks cool enough to photograph. Tickled Pink

Here's one I took in a local park named Mingus Park, over a year ago. I've never seen another tree like this one; I went back a few months after this picture was taken, and almost didn't recognize the tree because it had normal-looking green leaves. It knows you're here

I found this on the beach at Cape Arago a few months ago. Someone had carved a face into a big piece of driftwood...but I didn't notice it at first glance, then suddenly realized that a face was staring back at me. For just a moment, it was more than a little creepy.... Sign in to see full entry.
