It was about 93 here today, so we took the dogs out to swim. They love the water! Sign in to see full entry.

There is an ancient mariners saying that goes, ' Red sky at night, sailors' delight. Red sky at morning, sailors take warning.' If that is true, last night was a genuine delight. Another part of the Dollarville Watershed Flooding area just down the road from me. Sign in to see full entry.

Sandhill Crane on the Fly!

If you are familiar with Sandhill Cranes, you know that you usually will see them walking about, looking for something to eat. Very occasionally, you'll be lucky enough to see them fly. I got lucky yesterday and caught this big boy flying over the lake I was wandering near. Sign in to see full entry.

Daisy, Daisy, Give Me your Answer Do

With so much nonsense looming ahead of me, I had to get away for a while. Flowers have always been a favorite target, and tonight was no different. I was walking along, and this daisy insisted I take its picture. Of course, it wanted some 3x5's and a couple 8x10's, but I told it that would take a... Sign in to see full entry.

It's possible I've posed this before, but if I have, it would still be worth the second look. I found this in an early morning light. The flower was struggling to shake its morning dew to get into the morning sun. Sign in to see full entry.

I fouind this neat little place where there is the smallest of a stream... Sign in to see full entry.

This is a sunset at Teal Lake in Negaunee. The lake is almost completely frozen over, yet there was a heavy moisture in the air, giving me this beautiful glow. This was from March of this year. Sign in to see full entry.

Dollarville Flooding Part Two! Do Part One FIRST!

This part of the journey was along a railroad track that has definitely seen better days. I was told that this set of tracks has been there since the mid 1930's. It looks it. The logs that provide stability for the rails are about 60% rotted. I'm not sure I'd want to speed along on these things or... Sign in to see full entry.

Dollarville Flooding Part One!

It was a beautiful day in the Dollarville Flood refuge, about a mile and a half from my home. It was a good thing I wore my throw away shoes, because I think that's what may happen to them. We were wandering around in the wet areas, and my socks got soaked. I'm going to post several things in this... Sign in to see full entry.
