Stress? No Thanks

The work situation is starting to dominate my life. The two restaurants I work for, both Eat N Grinn, are vying for my time. I started delivering for one about 3 weeks ago, the other I started waiting tables about a week ago. Delivering is wonderful, the scooter is a physical symbol for freedom. Ride around in the sun, peek at all the tourists, like people watching in fast forward. But, it can be slow, some days there is not much money in it. Waiting tables, while it's busy, makes more money.... Sign in to see full entry.

Early To Bed, Early To Rise

I'm not sure if this is true, but I was told that the only thing that all people that live to be over one hundred years old have in common is that they have gone to bed early and woke up early for most of their lives. I think that ever since I heard that I have wanted to do that, I just never have. I've had a few jobs that required me to get up early, but I never stayed with them. Chronically late for them. Trip To Australia

I have two children that live in Australia. They lived in the U.S. for about 2 years and then left for Australia with their mother, my ex-wife, who is Australian. Daily Post

Nothing to say, too tired. Have to get up earlier than I'm used to tomorrow, the new boss has a pet peeve about people being late. I have an enormous weakness in that department. Hope I get up in time. Set all the alarms! Neighbors moved in next door today. Nice people. Glad to see it lived in, glad that the Landlord is finally done. He's been there, a house away, every single day since we moved in 3 months ago. Not that we're doing anything wrong, just that it was kind of annoying. But then,... Sign in to see full entry.

Where Are You From?

Seems like nobody is from Key West. There are locals, called Conch's (pronounced Konk), but they seem to be far and few between. Most everyone that you meet is from someone else. Some have been here for a long time, or have lived here off and on. Others are here for "season" when jobs are more plentiful and there are no hurricanes or tropical storms. Then there are people like me, that came here for a short time and haven't left yet. Guy last night stopped by the restaurant, he came here for 2... Sign in to see full entry.
